The Capital Access Team (CAT) helps businesses access capital with specialized advising, training and support. CAT advisers have specialized training in business finance and understand the financial landscape in their local areas, both traditional and nontraditional sources. The program challenges business owners to look at their financial models before determining the best path forward.

Trade assistance from the Global Trade Center can help you assess your company's readiness, plan toward export success, help you find the right markets, export your products and get paid. The Market Research Institute provides customized research reports and market intelligence for established businesses that anticipate growth. This data helps businesses find opportunity, better understand the competitive landscape, refine business plans, and make smarter informed business decisions.
To help bring innovative concepts to the marketplace and help Oregon businesses grow, we assist qualified Oregon companies in preparing proposals for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants. SBIR/STTR are competitive federal grant programs that award funding to small businesses to engage in research and development that have the potential to commercialize new technologies.
As part of our partnership with the Oregon Center for Cybersecurity at MHCC, small businesses have the opportunity to work with a cyber security student to help address their security needs. All students follow a strict project plan with oversight on the recommendations. In addition, our team works with a host of security providers that help advise, guide, and recommend next steps for security needs.

Recognizing that there are a number of distressed/rural communities in Oregon that have a growing Hispanic/Latino population, we have established a statewide network of support that include our Spanish speaking advisers, while partnering with organizations that serve Hispanic/Latino business communities.
